The HP Image Assistant (download it here) replaces the HP SoftPaq Download Manager. This free tool from HP provides assistance to System Administrators to improve the quality and security of their PC Windows image by diagnosing the image, identifying problems, recommending solutions, and analyzing your PC’s.
The HP Image Assistant scans your current model HP ProDesk, EliteDesk, Z Workstation, ProBook, EliteBook, or ZBook for the latest firmware and drivers. For older models, you maybe able to still use the HP SoftPaq Downloader instead.
This is very useful for doing clean Windows 10 installs via USB or a network image via WDS and MDT. It also allows for downloading and storing the drivers for offline use. The HP Image Assistant compares your current configuration against HP’s created baseline configuration. These baselines also contain checks against the BIOS/UEFI configuration; they also provide security guidances, for example recommending a BIOS level password.
